School carnivals are a great way to raise funds, build community spirit, encourage interaction among families, and reward students. They can be held by an individual school or an entire school district, and can range from very simple to an extravagantly themed festival. • Start planning early, an optimum time is about about 3 months ahead.
• Build a committee of volunteers. Parents, teachers, school employees, older students and student council members are all great helpers.
• Choose the elements for your carnival and assign a committee, volunteer or team of volunteers to each item.
